I'm sure that one of your items on this year's New Year's Resolutions was learning how to cook some German meals, right?! Let me help you with that!
Every month I will take you on a journey to discover a new Schwaebisch (Swabian) delicacy, such as : Gulasch, Spaetzle, Kaesspaetzle, Schnitzel, Rindsrouladen (beef rolls), Maultaschen (german ravioli), Semmelknoedel (bread dumplings), Rotkraut (red cabbage), Sauerbraten, and Kartoffelsalat (potato salad).
Our small class of 12 students will spend 2 hours learning how to cook Schwaebische dishes and then sit down and enjoy our meal together! The class is intended to be fun, hands-on and no prior cooking experience is needed - kids 10 and older are welcome as well.
First class, Thursday January 17th, 6-9pm, Studio 625, 625 San Pablo Ave., Albany, CA
'Schnitzel & Kartoffelsalat' - in this class you will learn how to make pork schnitzel and german potato salad. We will pound out our pork, season, bread and cook our schnitzel. Alongside that we will make Kartoffelsalat - German potato salad. Afterwards we'll adjourn to the 'Stammtisch' and enjoy our meal together - we can enjoy our meal with a beer from the brewery next door (Ocean View Brew Works) or feel free to bring in your favorite wine or other beverage.
Class duration 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Ages 10 and up. Cost $65 adults ($45 kids)
